The Housing Authority is a cooperative that provides quality and affordable housing, encouraging self-sufficiency and strengthening community participation and diversity in housing. The organization was created by a city council resolution in 1940, to meet the housing needs of Alameda Naval Air Station. It has several divisions which include administration, contracts management, finance, housing and managed housing. It owns and manages several low to very low income housing. Its headquarters is in Alameda, Calif.
